Custom Goldsmith Jon Pettey is a master goldsmith and fisherman. He first began designing jewelry as a hobby in 1974 at age 16. What started as a casual pastime quickly developed into a full-blown passion, and in 1978 Jon began to manufacture his designs into top-quality custom jewelry. In 1986, after various apprenticeships throughout Southern California, Jon opened his very own shop in Orange, Ca. – always making time for his other lifelong passion: fishing.

 

Jon’s exquisite craftsmanship and unbeatable customer service helped establish a wonderful reputation for his business. He specialized in custom engagement rings and wedding bands, but created everything from pendants to money clips for his valued clientele.

 

A few years after his shop’s opening, Jon had an epiphany – why not combine his passions of fishing and custom handmade jewelry? His first-hand knowledge of the fishing world paired with his talent for custom jewelry making were the exact elements he needed to start a line of custom nautical jewelry – and so he did! Since 1991, Jon Pettey has delighted both jewelry lovers and fishermen alike with his handcrafted fishing-inspired bracelets, rings, pendants, earrings and money clips.

Jon continues to be an avid sport fisherman. His current craze is long-range tuna fishing, but he is just as happy catching bluegills down at the lake. You can find him fishing the west coast from Southern California to Cabo San Lucas on his 22’ Radon or aboard the Royal Star where he is a Charter Master!
